Signing comments

Try out all these techniques below in the playground.


It would be messy if you did this for all edits, and in any case you can see who made which edit on the “Old revisions” button. Equally, if there is a reasonable consensus between curators, there is no point to claiming individual authorship.

The one vital exception to this is in the “Commentary” section. See the annotated template for topic pages. The point here is to encourage individual curators to put their own personal perspective, in cases where their personal position is not the same as the consensus of other curators. Individual curators may also use that space to add any helpful comments, where they are not sure about the consensus and they haven't talked it over.

In these cases, put your signature after your comment, leaving comments from individuals in separate paragraphs.

In the toolbar you will see the icon This is an illustration; don't click here! which if you hover over it is called “Insert Signature”. If you click on that, it will insert, at your cursor position, the code:
